A great day for the City of Calipatria!

On June 16, City leaders, partners, and community members celebrated the groundbreaking of the new City of Calipatria Community Airport Park, a major step toward creating more vibrant and inclusive community spaces.

Gafcon is proud to serve as Project Manager for this important project, which is funded through California’s Proposition 68. Once complete, the Community Airport Park will serve as a hub for recreation, learning, and connection, featuring a community center with flexible gathering spaces, classrooms, and a kitchen, along with a splash pad, playground, community garden, walking paths, and landscaped open space.

The park will provide a welcoming destination where residents of all ages can gather, play, and thrive for years to come!

We were honored to be part of MiraCosta College’s Coastal Celebration, an inspiring evening recognizing the leadership and legacy of Dr. Sunny Cooke!

The event brought together community partners, supporters, and leaders to celebrate Dr. Cooke’s lasting impact on education, student success, and the broader community. We’re grateful to support an event that not only honored a remarkable career but also helped advance future opportunities for MiraCosta students through the Sunny Futures Fund.

Breaking ground on a new community destination!

We’re proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of Bruce Brown Community Park, a 24-acre park that will bring new opportunities for sports, recreation, and outdoor connection to the Mira Mesa, Sorrento Valley, and Miramar communities. Once complete, the park will feature baseball and soccer fields with bleachers, playgrounds, fitness stations, basketball and pickleball courts, concessions, restrooms, more than 1.3 miles of sidewalks, and thoughtfully designed landscaping throughout. As the only community park within a 2-mile radius, Bruce Brown Community Park will serve as an important gathering place for families, athletes, and neighbors for years to come.

Congratulations to the City of San Diego, Lennar, the Gafcon team, and all project team members who helped bring this milestone to life. We’re honored to be part of a project that will create lasting value for the surrounding community!
