Westin Mission Hills, Rancho Mirage, CA

Twenty acres of desert resort, redesigned for the way people actually relax.

The Westin Mission Hills brought ACI in for planning, architecture, and interior design across one of the property's most ambitious renovations. A 30,000 sq ft lobby, spa, and public space program, all built around the unique rhythms of a destination resort in the California desert.

The project went on to win the 2006 ARDA Award, a recognition of how planning, hospitality experience, and ex*****on come together to create resort properties that genuinely transform a guest's stay.

Years on, the lesson stands: great resort design pays back for decades.

ACI Design Notes | A vet clinic inspired by a classic farm.

The concept for this veterinary hospital is called Modern Barnyard.

Reception, adoption, retail and grooming come together in one central hub, framed by the structure, materials, colors and light fixtures of a classic barn.

Barnwood look tile underfoot, rustic wood and black metal, youthful primary colors in the light fixtures and a hint of weathering throughout.

Small footprint. Five-star feeling.

Club Donatello proves boutique hospitality doesn't mean less, it means every square foot has to earn its place, and this San Francisco gem delivers a five-star guest experience without the five-star room count.

Save this for your next San Francisco stay.

The best-kept secret in this office isn't the lobby, it's the break room.

SIMNSA's staff space gets the same design attention most projects save for the front entrance: warm wood, bold red accents, and a layout that actually invites people to sit down together.

Would you want a break room like this at your job?

This sales center doesn't feel like a sales center at all.

The Silverleaf Resorts Sales Center swaps rows of desks for a resort-inspired lounge, cafe seating, a community bar table, and screens built right into the walls, because the sale starts with the experience.

As the days turn cooler, our spaces instinctively seek a new depth and warmth.

This season, we draw inspiration from an "architecture of textures" to create interiors that embrace and welcome. Our proposal fuses linear sophistication with the organic richness of the environment:

- A core of terracotta, rust, and soft amber tones radiating calm.
- Charcoal and espresso accents that add a structured elegance and define the space.
- A curated mix of rich woods, nuanced terrazzo, and botanical floral patterns that bring nature indoors.

It's not just about changing the decor, but about redesigning the experience of inhabiting. Now is the perfect moment to wrap your projects in layers of cozy sophistication.

Not every hospitality project needs glass and steel to make a statement.

This addition to Golden Road Brewing's footprint leans into stacked stone, sun-warmed stucco, and private balconies, materials chosen to make the space feel as good to sit in as it does to look at.

Balcony or patio, where would you sit?

This brick has been here for 100 years. The bar program? Brand new.

Social Tap San Diego blends a restored historic shell with a dining room and service flow built for a real Friday night crowd, proof that a building's history can be its best feature, not its biggest obstacle.

This is the room you book again next year.

Club Regina's interiors mix warm wood tones with a bold pop of color, and a layout built for actual lounging, not just a nice photo, because vacation ownership guests come back to the same space, season after season.

Would this be your go-to getaway?

First impressions start in the parking lot.

At Quartus Engineering, clean modern lines and generous glazing do the talking before anyone reaches the front door, because a headquarters is a first impression for every client and every new hire, long before a meeting starts.
