The doors are officially open! 🎉✂️

We had a fantastic time attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Specialty Clinic!

From testing lighting mock-ups on the dichroic glass fins to watching patients and staff experience the finished space for the first time, seeing this project come full circle is what healthcare design is all about.

Designed around the theme of a “tree planted by the water,” the space guides children and families on a meaningful journey from arrival to destination—featuring stream-inspired hardscape in the courtyard, flowing terrazzo flooring, and interior tree elements. Beyond being a medical facility, every detail—from the vibrant, color-shifting exterior to the warm interior finishes—was crafted as a living metaphor of faith, resilience, hope, and healing where every child feels rooted and supported.

Thank you to Loma Linda University Health, Layton Construction , EXP, ABSG Consulting, Goodman & Associates, Schmidt Design Group, Brandt Design Group, and the entire project team for an incredible partnership from start to finish!

The Kohl Medical Pavilion at Cedars-Sinai/Huntington Hospital in Pasadena continues to take true form as final glazing, tile and panelized rain screen are set in place.
Our Team at Mascari Dinh Architects, along with Contractor and subs at Layton/Abbott Construction, at latest site visit of the 100,285 square foot four-story Medical Office Building with over three levels of parking below grade. The photos share the sweeping curve of the massing which embraces the open terrace and plaza at the corner facing the main Hospital.

This annual charity event supports the Bannister Family House and La Jolla Family House by providing lodging for families with loved ones in the hospital.

Chasing Light at Loma Linda 💡
We’re thrilled to share a behind-the-scenes look at the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Specialty Clinic. Our latest site visit captured a lighting mock-up of the building’s signature feature: Dichroic glass fins.

These specialized glass elements act as a prism, shifting colors dynamically throughout the day and creating a vibrant “up-lighting” effect at night. While the artistic exterior takes shape, our partners at Layton Construction are making incredible progress on:
• The Building Envelope: Progressing on exterior cladding and rain screen systems.
• The Interior: High-end finishes and architectural lighting are currently being installed.
Everything is moving smoothly and we are on track for a Fall 2026 completion!

As a presenting sponsor of the 33rd Annual Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Foundation Gala—“Garden of Dreams”—we were proud to stand alongside a community committed to making a meaningful impact.

We’re especially proud to serve as the architects for the new ground-up, five-story, 105,000 SF Pediatric Medical Office Building at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. Designed to house primarily hospital-based pediatric clinics, the facility is thoughtfully planned to foster a healing environment where every child receives compassionate, life-changing care.
