🏆 Award Winning Project Spotlight 🏆
Designed to complement the character of the surrounding commercial and residential context, the City of San Antonio St. Mary’s Street Police Station features articulated exterior concrete walls capped with a hipped standing seam metal roof and generous overhangs. The façade integrates reinforced site-cast concrete panels with 12-inch coursed limestone masonry veneer sourced from regional quarries. Strategically placed punched window openings bring natural light into both levels of the building.
The main entrance at the southwest corner is marked by a prominent two-story aluminum and glass curtain wall system. Exposed structural steel columns and diagonal bracing extend above the entry to support a cantilevered roof projection, creating a civic presence and visual transparency.
This project received a 2024 Outstanding Construction Award (Design-Build) from the Associated General Contractors, Texas Building Branch!
