Bringing research, care, and community support together in one place is at the heart of the UT Health San Antonio Center for Brain Health.
 
For AIA San Antonio’s NEXO Exhibition, we’re sharing a project dedicated to advancing the prevention, care, and cure of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions.
 
The Center for Brain Health brings diagnostics, therapies, research, education, and support together under one roof, centered around patients and families. Its mission is especially significant in San Antonio’s Hispanic community, which is disproportionately impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.

For AIA San Antonio’s NEXO Exhibition, we’re sharing Judson ISD’s Selma Elementary School through the cultural connections that helped shape its design.
 
Alamo designers Ana Garcia Merino and Adrian Cardenas drew from connections to Mexico, the South Texas landscape, and the Latin American muralist tradition to help create a school rooted in identity, belonging, and the community it serves.

Preserving history is also about investing in the people who give it meaning.

Alamo Architects is honored to begin work on the rehabilitation of the historic 111 W. Travis Apartments (formerly known as the Robert E. Lee Apartments) in partnership with The San Antonio Housing Trust and Franklin Development. Together, we’re working to preserve this historic building while expanding affordable housing opportunities through thoughtful, community-centered design.

As the project moves forward, residents, community partners, and stakeholders will help shape a place that honors its history while supporting the people who call it home.

Developed by the San Antonio Housing Authority (now Opportunity Home), 100 Labor expands affordable housing opportunities near downtown San Antonio while strengthening connections to the historic Lavaca neighborhood. Through thoughtful placemaking, walkable outdoor spaces, and community-focused design, the project supports residents and contributes to a vibrant, connected community.
