At Echo Meadow Lane Residence, the architecture begins before the front door. Located at Canyon Lake with access to a boat ramp, the house is approached on foot through the existing trees, allowing the landscape to shape the transition from arrival to entry. The massing was developed specifically for this wooded setting: more protective toward the road and more open toward the preserved forest behind.

Inside Miranda Ridge Residence, long visual axes connect kitchen, dining, living, and exterior space. High ceilings and carefully placed openings give the open plan both continuity and rhythm.

Miranda Ridge Residence is approached through the existing landscape rather than presented all at once. Limestone volumes, tall glazing, and a sheltered entry gradually reveal the home before the sequence opens toward the pool and trees.

A contemporary residence set among mature trees. Metal siding, warm wood, generous glazing, and a simple gabled form create a measured relationship between the building and its wooded setting.

The footprint of High Chapel ADU is approximately 23'-0" x 18'-3" - just under 420 square feet per level. By building vertically, the project creates approximately 840 gross square feet across two independent studio suites while keeping its impact on the site remarkably small.

High Chapel ADU was planned for changing needs over time. The ground-floor suite provides a complete sleeping and living space with a full bath on one level, including a curbless shower with an overhead rain shower. The detail removes a small but important barrier for an older resident or anyone who benefits from easier access, without giving the space an institutional character.

It is a compact architectural response for households that need a first-floor bedroom without sacrificing independence or privacy.

High Chapel ADU demonstrates how much architecture can be contained within a small footprint. At 23'-0" by 18'-3", the two-story volume accommodates two complete living suites - each with a sleeping/living area, kitchenette, full bath, storage, and independent access - while occupying less than 420 square feet of site area.

A limited footprint does not have to produce limited space; careful section, circulation, and natural light can make it work much harder.

Lark Run Residence | San Antonio, Texas

Designed in response to a steep, wooded site, this custom residence follows the natural slope of the land through a composition of layered volumes, warm wood, dark metal, textured stucco, and expansive glazing.

Each space was carefully positioned to strengthen the relationship between the home, its outdoor areas, and the surrounding landscape.
