Sandy City Fire Station #31 won the latest award for Most Outstanding Specialty Masonry Contracting from Utah Construction & Design Magazine.

Designed as both a fire station and department headquarters, the 30,000-sf building brings a “mountain-meets-urban” character to Sandy while delivering a resilient, high-performing space for first responders. From the overall architectural vision to the integrated engineering solutions, the project balances durability, functionality, and civic identity.

Thoughtful detailinig, including the featured masonry elements, adds texture and depth to the building. Congratulations to IMS Masonry and the entire project team on this well-deserved recognition.

Meet Marissa, our summer intern!

Marissa completed her undergrad in Civil Engineering at Montana State University. Next she's headed to the University of Utah to get her Master's in Structural Engineering!

When she's not diving into calcs or helping design structural systems, you can find Marissa swimming, paddleboarding, baking, or playing tennis!

This year, our team partnered with MHTN Architects, Inc. and Resolut Group for Canstruction Salt Lake City, celebrating the theme with a design inspired by a Corinthian column — a symbol often seen in civic and government architecture. The layered colors represent our national parks and the land America was built on, honoring the natural beauty that connects us across generations.
