• Replace damaged cords right away

Reminder to our coastal neighbors: salt air and salt water can take a serious toll on electrical equipment.

This meter socket was recently marked unsafe by National Grid due to corrosion from coastal exposure.

Rust, corrosion, and moisture around your meter or service equipment can become a safety issue over time. If you notice signs of damage, it’s worth having it checked before it leads to a larger repair.

Today’s call was for a tripping GFCI on a fish pond system. After troubleshooting, we found the issue inside the filter: the UV light chamber had a water leak, allowing water to come into contact with the UV light—causing the GFCI to trip as designed.

Our new fishy friends will be happy to get out of their temporary housing and back into their pond.

If you’re experiencing nuisance tripping or issues with outdoor electrical systems, don’t ignore it—these safety devices are doing their job.
