After transforming this home's exterior last year, we came back to elevate the rear porch with a perfectly matching look. It has all the warmth and character of classic, natural materials, with the strength and lasting durability of LP SmartSide engineered wood.

This porch was already made for relaxing.
Now it looks the part.

🚨Why is it so important to hire a professional when installing your exterior?

What started as a routine trim replacement quickly turned into something much bigger.

From the outside, there were only minor signs of trim decay around the chimney. Once we removed the trim, we found extensive hidden rot. The siding, trim, sheathing, and even portions of the framing had to be removed and replaced.

Poor flashing and a complete lack of a weather-resistive barrier allowed water to work its way into the structure for years. This likely began shortly after the home was originally built.

This was no fault of the homeowner. None of us could see the full extent of the damage until everything was opened up. It does, however, show just how important proper flashing, house wrap, and professional installation are. Doing it correctly the first time protects far more than what you can see from the outside.
