The Invisible Killer Lurking in Your Home!

You may have heard of carbon monoxide and how it can be deadly if there's a leak in your home, but have you ever heard of radon? This invisible gas can be just as deadly, and chances are, it's lurking in your home right now.

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that comes from the decay of uranium in soil and rocks. It can seep into your home through cracks in the foundation, walls, or floors, and because it's odorless and colorless, you won't even know it's there. But make no mistake, radon can cause lung cancer, and it's the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.

In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that radon causes about 21,000 lung cancer deaths every year in the United States. That's more than drunk driving, homicide, and drowning combined. But despite these alarming statistics, many homeowners are unaware of the dangers of radon and don't take steps to protect themselves and their families.

So, what can you do to protect yourself from radon? First, get your home tested. You can get a free radon testing kit through us, or you can hire us to test your home for you. If your home has high levels of radon, you'll need to take steps to mitigate it. For the right steps to take give us a call and we will give you a mitigation bid for free to determine the best action to take.

It's also important to note that some areas of the country are more prone to high levels of radon than others. The EPA has created a radon map of the United States that shows where high levels of radon are more common. If you live in one of these areas, it's especially important to test your home for radon.

Don't let this invisible killer go unnoticed in your home. Take the necessary steps to protect yourself and your family from the dangers of radon.
