Adding onto an existing home requires careful planning, particularly when integrating new construction with the character and structure of the original home.

This Newberg project pairs a new garage addition and wrap-around deck with an existing cedar kit home built from stacked solid cedar tongue-and-groove walls and a distinctive roof structure.

The way this home was originally built continues to inform how the addition is detailed, framed, and connected. By understanding those original design and structural decisions, we’re able to create new spaces that feel intentionally integrated with the home as a whole.

With excavation, utilities, foundation work, and much of the framing complete, the addition is beginning to take shape.

This recently completed custom home showcases the value of a fully integrated design-build process.

By finalizing every finish, fixture, and material selection before construction began, we were able to provide a firm fixed price from the outset.

This gave the homeowners confidence in the budget from day one and eliminated the uncertainty and surprise costs that can arise when crucial decisions are delayed until construction.

The most successful homes are not defined by square footage or finishes alone. They are defined by how well they support everyday life.
 
Thoughtful design decisions, often unnoticed at first glance, can have a lasting impact on comfort and functionality. A welcoming entry vestibule creates a sense of arrival and privacy. A guest bath tucked around a corner feels more discreet and comfortable. A kitchen located near the garage simplifies daily routines.
 
Even practical spaces deserve careful planning.

What a great day co-hosting the Southeast Metro Showcase Tour with as part of the on Tuesday!

It was a day filled with meaningful conversations and a shared excitement for what’s possible with mass timber in residential homes.

The Molalla Mass Timber CLT project gave guests a rare look at a custom single-family home and expansive workshop, paired with stunning mountain views and a behind-the-scenes look at the building process alongside the homeowners themselves.

Grateful to connect, collaborate, and showcase what thoughtful design and craftsmanship can achieve.
