Snowy season has kicked off in Utah❄️ And winter in Utah can be rough on your yard, but a few simple steps now can make a huge difference come spring!
✔️Stop mowing (at the right time). If you haven't already, give your lawn a final cut before consistent freezing temps hit. Keep it short, but not too short, to avoid matting and mold.
✔️Clear leaves + debris. Leftover leaves can suffocate your grass and create the perfect environment for pests and fungus. A clean lawn = a healthier start next season.
✔️Blow out your sprinkler system. Freezing temps can burst underground pipes if your system isn't drained properly. If you haven't already done this, now is the time!
✔️Trim and mulch beds. Cut back perennials, add a layer of mulch to insulate roots, and protect flower beds from the freeze-thaw cycle.
✔️Avoid walking on frosted grass. When it’s frozen, grass blades are brittle and prone to damage. Stick to paths or sidewalks until things thaw.
