This is a bench I made recently. For fun, not commissioned. I built another bench and had a thought while it was sitting on my work bench that it was a bench on a bench. So I made one that’s a bench on a bench. Anywho, the dimensions on it are about 20” tall, 12” deep and 42” wide. The inner bench is made from maple, it was steam bent to shape and stained a charcoal black. The outer bench, the red, was a mix of cherry and alder with an old fashioned cherry stain.
One real caveat with the drawer as I didn’t want to take away from the inlay, so there’s no handle or drawer pull on the front, but there is a way to reach under and pull it open.
Currently listed on marketplace for $1200. Call text or email if interested in this piece or having one custom made to your own specifications

Here’s a greenhouse Corcoran Carpentry just built. We took care of the concrete slab, getting it formed and poured, assembly of the actual greenhouse, and then an L shaped workbench built inside. All done on a tight timeline for a dedication to a retiring ceo.

This was an add on to the backside of a garage. The property owner had a local builder planning this project but asked if I would give the guy some help. So I went over and took a look. The plan was supposed to be for a shed type roof. I called up the property owner and said I didn’t like the plan. Every building on the property has a gable valley tie-in, so this one addition would stand out. And the shed type roof was going to really limit head height. So the plan got changed. I think it cost maybe an extra $500 in material if I remember right. I helped get it framed in and then came back to insulate and bring in power ⚡️

This project started with a piece of granite that a client purchased on sale. They asked if I could make a kitchen island out of it. The only thing to work around with it was that only 3 sides of the granite slab were finished. So I made a plan for two cabinets, one that would hold the 8’ granite piece, and one that would hold a butcher block and act to cap the end of the granite slab. The big cabinet had two narrow banks of drawers on each side and two wide deep drawers in the center. The cabinet for the butcher block had a garbage can pullout and two shelves.
After bringing in the island and getting the granite set on top the client asked if I would tile the counters and backsplash in a granite that matched the island. We did our best to match. Set the granite tile, installed a new sink, and I painted the old cabinets to match the island. Client said they liked the two tone look so the uppers stayed the same.

This is the first real project taken on after moving back to Oregon. It started with two water leaks, one small leak in a bedroom and the major one happening where the old shed type roof tie-in was. I made a choice for a design change, because the house across the street had a hip valley tie-in. I didn’t like how shallow the shed type roof was and was going to change it one way or another, so I opted for making it a hip valley and matching the roof pitch that the rest of the roof has.
After starting the tear off to make the change I found a few issues with the previous roof install itself and made the choice to do a full tear off and a fresh roof install.
After redoing the roof I was able to go inside and replace all the insulation and sheetrock. Skip trowel finish. Painted the walls and ceiling. Installed vinyl plank flooring, I milled up some wood and installed wainscoting, picked a color the homeowner liked and then painted the trim and wainscot to match.

This project I got called out to finish. The previous contractor got burned out I think with the extent of work, because the client was easy to work for and paid well. My job was to finish the tile set, grout everything, close off the wall that was open for plumbing, set a couple of closet doors and one main door, set the toilet, and finally to finish off the crown molding

This was an investment property a friend bought. They asked me to come through and paint, set new laminate flooring, repair some loose tiles, set some new doors, new toilets, and to install some new lighting.
