THIS IS WHY PROPER IRRIGATION INSTALLATION MATTERS!
This backflow was installed on exposed PVC, and you can see it’s cross-threaded and barely threaded into the fitting. Eventually, this connection is going to fail.
PVC exposed outdoors can deteriorate from UV/sun exposure, becoming more brittle over time. Combine that with a poorly threaded connection supporting a heavy backflow device, and you have a recipe for a failure that could mean a lot of wasted water and an expensive mess.
There’s a right way to install irrigation—and this isn’t it.

💦 This is why your irrigation blowout matters!
Using a massive tow-behind compressor with too much pressure can damage irrigation piping and fittings. This burst pipe was underground leaking water into the customer’s yard.
Your irrigation system needs proper airflow AND properly regulated pressure — bigger isn’t always better.
Hire an irrigation professional, not just someone with a big compressor.

HOW NOT TO REPAIR AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM! 🚫💦
We got called out for a wet spot that wouldn’t go away. Once we dug it up, this is what we found from a previous repair by another local irrigation company.
Home Depot-style fittings, a radiator hose clamp on one side and a pinch clamp on the other—and, no surprise, it was leaking underground.
Cheap shortcuts usually cost you twice. Do it right the first time.
