Construction Inclusion Week asks us to reconnect two ideas we already believe in: commit to something worth doing, then hold yourself accountable to actually doing it.
Commitment sounds easy until you have to live it out on a jobsite at 6 a.m. in bad weather with a schedule that's already tight. This industry runs on deadlines, safety margins and people who depend on each other to show up and do the job right. Inclusion has to not just survive, but thrive in that environment to become or remain a steady part of our culture.

This year’s theme “Opening Doors, Building a Workplace for Everyone," is a good reminder that inclusion is more than just a policy that lives in a handbook. On September 11th, 2026, Texas-based Building Automation experts, JMS Integrated Building Solutions officially became "a Harris Company," beginning a partnership with Harris, a leading national mechanical contractor headquartered in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Founded by Jim Shadley, JMS has been designing, programming and installing facility management systems since 2007, when Jim launched the company from his own living room.

JMS built their business by listening carefully, holding themselves to high standards and earning trust one project at a time. They're also an exceptional group of professionals who are as dedicated to "remarkable people, remarkable results" as we are here at Harris.
