Big news — Landco Homes is officially full time! 🏠🔨

A year ago this business started as nights, weekends, and side jobs after work. Yesterday marked one full year since I took the chance and started Landco Homes, and somewhere along the way it grew into enough work, support, and opportunity for me to make it my full-time job.

After spending my entire working life with Chris Garland Construction, making the decision to go out on my own was a big step. But I’m ready and excited for what’s ahead.

This last year has brought some really great clients and projects my way. I’ve had the opportunity to work on everything from smaller home projects to large scale remodels and additions. I’ve even had clients come back for second and third projects. That kind of trust means a lot.

Every referral, share, comment, and recommendation has helped grow this business more than you probably know.

I wouldn’t be here without the support from this community, friends, family, and everyone who’s trusted me to work on their homes.

Just wrapped up a window project for a great client in Maple Hill. 🏠🔨

We replaced all the windows in the home and, at the homeowner’s request, removed a set of small living room windows and installed a much larger one to allow for more natural light. ☀️

Everything was trimmed out clean to give the project a sharp, finished look.

With spring just around the corner, now’s the time to start thinking about those home improvement projects. 🏠🔨

Our calendar is filling up quickly and we’ve got a big announcement coming in the next few months! 🗓️

Hi, it’s William Garland. I know this is a longer post, but I wanted to take a minute to fill you in on where we’ve been and what we’ve been up to lately.

Our personal home is moving along really nicely. As you can see in the photos, the exterior is just about wrapped up, and we’re getting ready for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing to go in the walls. We’ve contracted those trades out to trusted professionals, which means the work is done right—and it also frees up time for me to focus more on Landco Homes. 🔨🏠

So far in 2026, we’ve been grateful to meet some amazing clients and are currently working on two home remodels in the St. Mary’s and surrounding areas. Just like with our own home, I’m not trying to be a jack of all trades. While I’ve been a framer for the last decade, I’m continuing to grow into the role of contractor. That means meeting with you, listening to your vision, and then managing the entire project from start to finish—coordinating timelines, materials, and the right people to make sure the job is done right. Our job is to get you the best quality work at the best price, while keeping the process as efficient and stress-free as possible, whether that’s cabinets, drywall, finishes, or anything in between.

You may have noticed we haven’t been posting much lately—but it’s not because things are slow. Far from it.🏡🔨

About 50 days ago, my family and I closed on 5 acres of country land and started building our own place: 2,400 sq ft total with a 1,000 sq ft shop and 1,400 sq ft of living space. My wife is handling the design (she’s basically Pinterest certified), and I’m running the job as the general contractor and the builder

Most builds take about 18 months. We’re aiming for 7. It’s a big goal, but we’re all in.

So while we may not be posting as often about other projects, we’ll be sharing the progress on ours. And if you’re looking to build and need a contractor, send us a message. We’re still taking on work—just balancing a lot at once.

Last week we proudly finished up a detailed exterior project for one of our amazing clients!🔨🏠

We started by removing and replacing the old ceiling soffit to give the space a cleaner, updated look. Then we concealed the deck gutter system, improving both the aesthetics and function by keeping it hidden from view.

To complete the job, we were happy to work with Uplift for a fantastic repaint as well as stone mason to grout around the stonework for a seamless finish that ties everything together. 🏡

We recently worked with Alexandra Hall to upgrade a basement staircase that was both unsafe and outdated.

Before: An old glass door enclosed the stairs, creating hazards.

After: We removed the glass and added a custom "box" around the concrete stairs, improving safety and accessibility.
