When we begin a project we feel the Owner’s representatives are immediately a very important part of our team. This approach to design provides the opportunity for several checks and balances throughout the process. This is a matter of making recommendations and then testing and questioning. We have a large amount of information compiled from our years of experience which gives us insight into what works and what does not. At the same time we are constantly researching and investigating the latest materials and techniques in the architectural and construction industries. We take quality very seriously. We offer continuing service to all of our clients. Our large number of repeat clients is testimony to our quality professional services.

The St. Joseph Animal Shelter held its official ribbon cutting on Friday, and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this wonderful addition to our community!

We are so close the the end of this project, it will be strange to have it finished. We spend so much time onsite at all of our projects and one like this we spend even more. But holy cow, it’s amazing. The design! The details! The craftsmanship! The furniture and the art! The final touches! Finished pictures and video coming soon.

We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with both Missouri Western State University and the YWCA. Our firm's connection to the YWCA dates back to our founding architect, Walter Boschen, who designed the original YWCA building. Our relationship with Missouri Western began when the first building was constructed on campus.
When our firm was known as Herschman & Douglas, Gary Ellison played a key role in establishing the design of the Western campus. Since 1969, our firm has designed nearly every building on campus, and we are honored to have served as the University's Campus Architect for many years.
Lori Wilson is completing the first year of a three-year term on the YWCA Board of Directors and is passionate about raising awareness of the vital services the organization provides, including its domestic violence shelter and support programs.
The Griffon Golf Classic and dinner/auction fundraiser is always a wonderful event, bringing the community and local businesses together while generating critical support for Missouri Western Athletics and the YWCA's important mission.
