At Groundsman LLC, we’re committed to doing high-quality work the right way. We hire people who take pride in their work, show up ready to work, support the team, and care about the finished product.

This is a full-time, year-round Laborer position on our landscape installation team that transitions into snow removal during the winter.

Summer Work

Most of our landscape work consists of complete landscape bed renovations. You will assist with removing existing rock, mulch, plants, and other materials before installing an entirely new landscape.

We complete this work without any heavy equipment—primarily using shovels and wheelbarrows—so we can protect the surrounding turf and deliver a clean, precise finished product.

Our projects also include:

🌿 Sod installation
🌿 Seeding and lawn renovations
🌿 Lawn repair
🌿 Drainage installation
🌿 Concrete landscape edging
🌿 Plant, rock, and mulch installation

We have extremely high standards for both the installation process and the condition of the jobsite. Every property must be left clean, organized, and completed correctly. This is not a position for someone looking to rush through projects or take shortcuts. Our team is expected to work efficiently while maintaining high standards from start to finish.

Our process is different from many other landscape crews. Even applicants with experience should expect extensive training to learn our systems and meet our standards.

Winter Work

During the winter, you will assist with snow and ice removal. Depending on your experience and training, this may include operating:

❄️ Plow trucks
❄️ Tractors
❄️ Skid steers
❄️ Loaders
❄️ Sidewalk equipment
❄️ Snowblowers and shovels

We service residential driveways, homeowners associations, retail properties, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, and other commercial properties.

Experience Is Not Required

Yes, we offer a high starting wage, but previous landscape experience is not required.

Landscape and snow removal experience may improve your chances of being hired, but we are more than willing to train the right person. We have seen people with no industry experience become highly successful because they brought a strong work ethic, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Experience in construction, concrete, agriculture, farm work, tree service, or other physically demanding industries is also valuable.

Another Throwback Project from last year as we look forward to spring! This is another one we did in St. Cloud, MN

A look back at a full landscape renovation we completed last fall for a homeowner who had just moved into the property.

The existing landscaping was outdated and difficult to maintain, so we started with a full teardown. We removed all the old materials — edging, landscape rock, plants, and fabric — and rebuilt the beds from the ground up.

As part of the redesign, we reshaped several areas of the landscaping to create smoother lines and make mowing easier. The goal was a cleaner layout that didn’t feel like the house was surrounded by too much rock while still keeping the beds defined and low maintenance.

The homeowner chose a plant-free landscape design because deer in the area regularly eat plants. By eliminating plants entirely, the landscape stays clean and requires very little upkeep.

One challenge on this project was the steep grade around the corner of the house, which previously caused drainage and erosion problems. We solved this by building a small boulder retaining wall to stabilize the slope and create a smooth transition around the corner of the home.

For the install we used:
• Commercial-grade w**d barrier fabric
• 2–6” river rock
• Decorative concrete landscape curbing
• A light texture stamp with a warm brown color and subtle red tones to complement the brick exterior

This project took the crew a few days to complete — there was a lot of existing rock to remove — but the final result is a clean, durable, very low-maintenance landscape that fits the property perfectly.

Throwback Project – St. Cloud, MN

A look back at a landscape upgrade we completed last year in St. Cloud.

The goal was to clean up an older landscape bed and make it match another existing mulch bed on the property.

We started with full landscape rock removal, removing the old rock, plastic edging, and failing landscape fabric. From there we installed new commercial-grade w**d barrier and a fresh mulch installation so the bed matched the existing landscaping.

We also extended the landscaping along the side of the house so it now connects smoothly with the landscaping in the backyard. Instead of several disconnected beds, the property now has one continuous landscape line that looks cleaner and is easier to maintain.

As part of the install, we relocated several sprinkler heads so they sit outside the landscape beds and properly cover both the lawn and the plants.

Simple upgrade. Cleaner design. Easier maintenance.

Spring is near! Throwback to one of our favorite transformations from last season we did in Becker, MN. This client was referred to us by a friend who we did some landscaping for.

We completely removed the existing landscape beds — rock, fabric, edging, and overgrown plant material — and simplified the entire layout to create a cleaner, lower-maintenance design.

Scope of work:

• Full landscape rock removal
• Reduced oversized beds to decrease long-term maintenance
• Installed new coco brown landscape rock
• Installed all new commercial-grade fabric w**d barrier
• Installed new plants + relocated select existing plants
• Installed fresh sod (12-month warranty) where beds were removed
• Set up temporary automatic irrigation for the new sod
• Installed our signature concrete curbing edging in Dark Charcoal

The client chose our River Slate stamp pattern in Dark Charcoal— a bold stone texture that pairs perfectly with their dark grey home and gives the beds strong, permanent definition.

Project was completed in under a week, with follow-up visits to monitor and protect the new sod after installation.

🚨 WE’RE HIRING – SIDEWALK CREW LABORERS 🚨
We have expanded our snow operations and we’re adding to our team! We need people for our sidewalk crews to help with walkways, city sidewalks, entrances, and more!

✔ Commercial sites
✔ Residential driveways
✔ HOAs
✔ Stand-on sidewalk machines + blower operation

📌 What You’ll Do:
• Shovel sidewalks, steps, and walkways
• Run walk-behind and stand-on sidewalk equipment
• Apply salt/ice melt
• Keep properties safe and clear

📌 What to Expect:
• 8–16 hr shifts per snow event
• Work is weather-based — may go 1–2 weeks between storms
• Work before, during, and after snow
• We usually give 3–5 days notice before dispatch
• Seasonal W-2 employment — Paid bi-weekly, no cash pay

📌 Requirements:
• Able to lift 80 lbs
• Proficient in English
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing to work nights/weekends when storms hit

📌 We Provide:
• Company truck transport
• Company equipment (shovels, blowers, stand-on machines)
• Hot food, snacks, beverages & energy drinks
• Base layer sweatshirt + hat

👕 You Provide:
Boots, pants, gloves, and a winter coat.
