THE 2023 ST. GEORGE AREA PARADE OF HOMES IS NOW OPEN
FOR INSPIRATION AND EXPLORATION!

The long-anticipated opening of the 2023 St. George Area Parade of Homes has finally arrived offering visitors the chance to explore 30 exceptional homes increasing the level of craftmanship and design yet again.

The parade opened to thousands of excited attendees from all over the state of Utah and surrounding states under the blue skies of Southern Utah.

"I look forward to the Parade of Homes each year for inspiration and each year it seems to get better. The design touches of each home are fabulous," commented, Alyson Danford of St. George.

The Parade of Homes is all about saying "Yes!" to new experiences and ideas. Discover thousands of new ideas in each room of every home, from the new bedroom to the outdoor patio, the home theater, and more. With a focus on fresh and new ideas, the Parade of Homes promises to inspire and delight.

Homes will be open from 10am-7pm daily (closes 5 pm on 26th), and tickets are now available for purchase at www.ParadeHomes.com for $20 each. Tickets can also be purchased from Lin's Markets and Red Cliffs Mall.

In addition to the homes themselves, the Parade of Homes will feature virtual tours, available beginning February 22nd with ticket purchase on ParadeHomes.com and viewable through March 31st. Visitors can also explore Parade Exhibitors located in the garages of the Parade Homes, offering great products and services.

The Parade of Homes will be located in St. George, Washington, Ivins, and Hurricane, and will feature homes of various sizes and prices, including the most expensive home at $6,125,000 and the least expensive home at $575,000.

Whether you're planning a new laundry room or updating your existing one, we have some helpful design advice and inspiration to create the most efficient, functional and aesthetically pleasing space.

Let your Laundry Room flow with a task-based design. To design an efficient laundry room that saves you time and effort, think about the tasks involved: sorting clothes, washing, drying, and folding.

Arrange the work surfaces and appliances to facilitate that flow. Your laundry room design should assure you easy transition for the laundry to go from the washer to the dryer to the countertop for folding. Rods above or on the side of the dryer offers a place for hanging items as you remove them from the dryer.

Shelves above the washer and dryer keep laundry products within easy reach. And a laundry sink for hand-washing delicate items and stain treating various items should be within steps of your washer and dryer. Remember, minimum steps equals maximum efficiency.

Make space for folding and hanging. Install a countertop so you have a place to fold clothes as they come out of the dryer. Ideally, it should be right above the dryer to minimize steps. If that's not an option, be sure your design includes a nice area for you to fold your family’s clothing. Every laundry room needs a place to hang clothes fresh from the dryer or delicate items you prefer to air-dry, so be sure to include space for hanging on sturdy clothes rods in your design.

Try to incorporate a convenient space for ironing. A built-in ironing board saves space and makes ironing less of a chore.

The proper organization of your laundry products is essential. Being organized makes any job easier. Gather all your laundry and clothing-care supplies into one utility cabinet near the washer and dryer so that everything is at hand when you need it. Store extra supplies here, too, so you'll know when it's time to restock. Make sure you store bleach and other dangerous compounds up high enough so young children can’t reach them.

Selecting durable surfaces is a must. Any of the countertop and flooring surfaces that make sense in the bathroom or kitchen also make sense for the laundry room. Countertops made of laminate, stone, quartz, or solid surfacing make it easy to clean up spilled detergents or fabric softeners. Plus, their smooth surfaces prevent snags when folding delicate lingerie, blouses, or sweaters. Tile floors are easy to mop up in case of spills and will not be damaged by bleach.

If you have a large laundry room, take a cue from kitchen designs and add a center island. This space not only accommodates laundry, but also creates potential for other useful functions such as a gift-wrapping station or a kid’s crafting zone.

Regardless of the design you choose for efficiency, it's easier to do laundry if the room makes you happy to be in it. Decorate your laundry room in a way that expresses your personality. Bring in color and uniqueness with your wall paint color, cabinet hardware or decor.

The Luxury, Elegance and Practicality of a White Closet

We often get asked how we feel about white closets. Besides the fact that these photos depict the luxurious and elegant feel a white closet may provide in your beautiful home, a white or neutral color in a closet will provide some reflective light which can be particularly beneficial in your closet.

Most closets will have at least one overhead light, however, once you fill that closet with your prized wardrobe, especially if you fill it to its maximum capacity, some of that light may be blocked or diminished, making it a bit difficult for you to choose your outfits.

We certainly have numerous, beautiful matte and textured colors available in lighter colors complementary to your room's tone and often advise our customers to select a tone up to two or more shades light then the tone of the room. This way, the closet will still go with the main color in the room, and you won't have to struggle with vision in the space.

Another way to make your closet appear lighter while matching darker primary room tones is to paint the ceiling white. This way, you can still match the room's color but create more visibility with the lighter ceiling. If you do this, it's best to use semi-gloss paint to help reflect the light in the ceiling as opposed to flat ceiling paint.
