⚡ Industrial electrical work

We’ve been working with this client for over 10 years as their facility continues to expand.

This area houses industrial X-ray testing equipment, which requires 4-foot thick concrete radiation shielding walls and lead-lined enclosures.

Bosch Electrix handled the electrical infrastructure including panels, conduit runs, and equipment power feeds throughout the space.

Here’s a bird’s-eye walkthrough of part of the installation.

⚡ Home Electrical Safety Tip ⚡

Many older homes still have 2-prong outlets installed. These outlets were common years ago, but they do not have a grounding path, which helps protect people and equipment from electrical faults.

Modern 3-prong grounded outlets include a grounding connection that helps safely redirect electrical current if a fault occurs. This reduces the risk of electrical shock and can help protect appliances and electronics.

If your home still has 2-prong outlets, there may be safe upgrade options such as installing properly grounded outlets or GFCI protection depending on the wiring in the home.

Electrical safety upgrades can make a big difference in protecting your home and family.

⚡ The More You Know – Edison vs Tesla ⚡

In the early days of electricity, two inventors helped shape the power systems we use today.

Thomas Edison built some of the first electrical power systems and helped develop the light bulb and early electric utilities. His system used Direct Current (DC) electricity.

The problem with DC power was that it could only travel a short distance before losing energy.

Nikola Tesla later developed a system using Alternating Current (AC) electricity. AC can travel long distances through power lines much more efficiently.

Because of this, Tesla’s AC system became the standard for power grids around the world.

Today, the electricity in most homes — including lights, outlets, appliances, and EV chargers — is still based on the AC system Tesla helped develop over 100 years ago.

⚡ The More You Know – Electrical Basics ⚡

A simple way to understand electricity is to think about water flowing from a faucet.

🔹 Voltage (Volts) = Water Pressure
The pressure pushing electricity through the wire.

🔹 Current (Amps) = Water Flow
How much electricity is actually moving — like how much water comes out of the faucet.

🔹 Watts = Total Power
Watts are the amount of work being done, which is pressure × flow.

Think of it like filling a bucket.

• High pressure with a small flow fills the bucket slowly.
• High pressure with a large flow fills the bucket quickly.

That’s why big appliances like EV chargers, dryers, and ovens use more watts — they need more power to do their job.

Voltage × Amps = Watts

⚡ Homeowner Electrical Tip of the Day ⚡

GFCI outlets (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters) are designed to protect you from electrical shock in areas where water is present — like kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoors.

According to the Electrical Safety Foundation, GFCIs have helped reduce electrocutions in homes by over 80% since they became widely used.

If you have GFCI outlets in your home, it’s a good idea to press the “TEST” button once a month to make sure they are working properly.

If the outlet doesn’t trip or reset, it may need to be replaced.

⚡ Quick Homeowner Electrical Tip ⚡

If your electrical panel is completely full, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re out of power — but it does mean there’s no room for additional circuits.

A lot of homeowners run into this when adding things like EV chargers, hot tubs, garage heaters, or new kitchen appliances.

Before installing new electrical equipment, it’s always a good idea to have the panel checked to make sure it has enough space and capacity.

My business page and website are currently under construction, but I’ll be posting more electrical tips and project photos soon.
