🔥 Turned on your heat and thought, “What’s that smell?!” 👃
After months of sitting unused, dust can collect on heating components. When they heat up, that dust burns off—creating that familiar first-cold-morning smell.
✅ A mild dusty smell that fades quickly is usually normal.
⚠️ If it lingers, gets stronger, or smells like burning plastic or electrical wiring, turn the heat OFF and have it inspected.
🚨 Smell gas or rotten eggs? Leave immediately without operating switches or appliances, then call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Visible smoke, flames, or a carbon monoxide alarm also mean get outside and call 911.
Remember: carbon monoxide has NO smell. WHEN IN DOUBT = GET OUT!
This is just FAKE FALL y'all! Need your heat checked before North Florida decides it’s winter? Your Comfort Guardians are here! 👽💜
