It feels like everyone in Minnesota is talking about ticks this year... and for good reason.

Reports of heavy tick activity are showing up across the state, and while most of us know about Lyme disease, health experts are also keeping an eye on a much rarer tick-borne illness called Powassan virus.

Unlike Lyme disease, which usually requires a tick to be attached for many hours, Powassan can be transmitted much more quickly and can cause serious neurological complications in severe cases.

The ticks are out in full force so for the next few weeks we will be out spraying for ticks,fleas, mosquitoes, ants, spiders and 20 other bugs. Product last up to 90 days and most people have re-booked since offering this product each year. They're anticipating product shortages due to severity down south of the bugs already but luckily I listened to my wife when she said order extra cases. Just wanted to put everyone's mind at ease as to why it is best to wait another week or two to spray for dandelions. If we sprayed now for dandelions it only kills what is currently there then anything that sprouts up after would need sprayed again and we aren't in the business to keep charging people to respray if it's not necessary and could wait a week or two when the majority of them have popped up. If you are doing our step program after a couple years you won't have many dandelions as the fertilized grass will choke out the weeds.

We are just finishing up step one of the program which is a crabgrass preventer and fertilizer then within the next few weeks we will be out spraying for broadleaf weeds (including those dreaded dandelions). We've been getting calls early this year about the flea and tick spraying as they say this year will be terrible for ticks and some people have reported their animals with ticks so message us if you want a quote or on the list. We ordered extra product early on but have a feeling it might be harder to come by with the increased demand nationwide. Best way to reach us is by text or calling 641-832-8580.
