To cut around everything I decided to make a jig and use a flush-cut router bit.
While that took a lot of time, it gave me repeatable and fairly fast results after.

We also decided to not have every little detail in the boards as it did not look good. So we smoothed out the curves.

It’s a very rainy day here, no deck progress happening today.
This book is how I design my decks to code - even when I’m working in rural Vermont towns that do not have any codes.

It’s a phenomenal resource that combines all the sections of the International Residential Building Code that are relative to building a deck, instead of having to flip back and forth to multiple sections of the full building code.

We did a cool offset border instead of the tradition 45 degree corners and I think it looks great.
