When working people come together, good things happen.

UA Local 85 was proud to host our Candidate Luncheon, bringing members, families, and community leaders together for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and meaningful conversations about the future of our region.

Thank you to Kristin McDonald Rivet, Chris Swanson, Haley Stevens, and Chederick Greene for spending time with our members and hearing directly from the hardworking men and women who build and maintain our communities.

What a great day at UA Local 85's Candidate Luncheon!

Members, families, and community friends came together on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to enjoy hot dogs, Faygo, co****le, and great company. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, have some fun, and engage with leaders who are working to make a difference in our communities.

We were honored to welcome Kristen McDonald Rivet, Chris Swanson, Haley Stevens, and Chedrick Greene, who took time to meet with attendees and discuss the issues that matter to working families.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the event such a success. Days like these remind us that strong communities are built through fellowship, conversation, and involvement.

Nurses are the backbone of our communities. They take care of all of us. Right now, it is our turn to take care of them.

For over 215 days, Teamsters nurses have been on the picket line fighting for fair wages and safer patient ratios.

This week, UA Local 85 partnered with Sheriff Chris Swanson, UA LOCAL 370, and Teamsters Local 332 to support them in a meaningful way. Together, they delivered 350 hams so these nurses and their families can enjoy a proper Easter meal.

On Good Friday, union brothers and sisters showed up, stood side by side, and reminded these nurses that they are not alone.

That is what solidarity looks like.

UA Local 85, alongside Sheriff Chris Swanson , UA LOCAL 370, and Teamsters Local 332, came together to support nurses who have been on strike for over 7 months.

These nurses are fighting for fair wages and safe staffing for themselves, their patients, and the future of healthcare.

This Easter, we made sure they and their families are taken care of.

Because when one union is in need, we all show up.

That is what solidarity looks like.

We loved celebrating yet another year together and honoring the years of skill, dedication, and craftsmanship you’ve given to Local 85.
