Mass Save is currently offering up to $60,000 for renovation & addition projects that meet the Tier 2 requirements in their new 2025 Renovation & Additions Incentive Program. It’s a great time to make the switch to all-electric!

In order to get these robust incentives, you must work with a Mass Save-approved certified Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater, like Home Energy Raters. We will conduct a preliminary site visit at your home prior to the start of construction or demolition and register your project with the program.

The registration deadline has been extended until Friday, February 21st! This is a great opportunity if you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a HERS Rater.

RESNET Certified HERS Raters are qualified to: perform duct tightness and blower door testing for home builders, certify projects for the ENERGY STAR program (after also completing the Energy Star Certified Homes Program), rate new homes in all states (except CA), and assist homeowners with problems such as ice dams, moisture, and mold.

- Freddie Mac Changes Threshold Energy Performance Targets for SF Green MBS -

Through its Single-Family Green Mortgage-Backed Securities (Green MBS) program, Freddie Mac offers incentives to mortgage lenders for high-energy performance homes. In April 2021, Single-Family issued its first Green MBS.

Currently, Freddie Mac uses the threshold of a HERS® Index score of 60 or less.

On October 10, 2024, Freddie Mac announced that as part of its 2025 Freddie Mac Single-Family Green MBS Framework, it will lower its HERS Index score threshold to 55 or less on January 1, 2025.

Freddie Mac also announced that it will also be including the option of new homes with an ENERGY STAR v3.2 or the latest version of the certification.

Happy to have been a part of the Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod's Blitz Build where they build 1 home a week for a family. 💕

Our team was able to provide Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod with a HERS rating/code compliance testing as well as donate an ERV. We were also excited to have our sister company, New England Air Barrier, air seal the home with the innovative AeroBarrier air sealing technology!

Very cool event. 😎
