A raccoon visited our church today. Although this particular individual was tame and non-aggressive, it is advisable not to feed them, attempt to keep them as pets, or approach them. Some raccoons are known carriers of rabies. Raccoons are fascinating creatures, often found scavenging within city limits, having been displaced from their natural habitats. For the most part, they are seeking sustenance through trash and pet food.
