A roofline could have ruined this million-dollar view. 👀

Instead of letting the patio roof block the home office window, we changed the roof pitch from 4:12 to 2:12 and repositioned the posts to open up the view.

The result? A wide-open picture of the trees, landscape, and kids playing outside, exactly what the homeowners wanted.

Want smooth, professional-looking trim? Paint it BEFORE you install it. 👀

Painting MDF door casing after it's installed can leave brush marks, roller texture, and missed spots in all those little grooves.

You don't necessarily have to give up on the project. A sewer injection pump can grind the waste and push it through a pressurized line, even when the sewer connection is uphill.

When two flooring materials have different thicknesses, you can't just lay one next to the other and hope for the best.

We built up the tile with cement board and DITRA, then shimmed it where needed to get the transition nearly perfectly flush.

You won't notice the work when it's done right. That's the point.

Even a small repair can come with a big challenge.

This longtime client had dry rot in her front-yard doghouse, and the HOA required it to match the existing house.

The siding had been discontinued, so we carefully removed the existing siding, reframed the entire doghouse, and reused the original material to keep it consistent with the house.

It took about two days, and the doghouse is back in shape.
