1945-Lewis and Lawson Excavating begins it's 20 year run.
1964-Lewis and Lawson expands into the marine industry forming Lewis & Lawson Harbor Service. Lewis and Lawson Harbor Service operated 20 years in the Clinton, Iowa area by; by operating 3 tugboats for fleeting of barges, welding, repair, cleaning of barges, and raising sunken barges. They built a 700 ton capacity dry dock expanding repair
capabilities. Millwright work, plant maintenance, driving piling for barge loading/unloading for Peavey Grain, Bunge Corp, Agrico, Agri Industries, and CF Industries. Transported 110 ton gas fired boiler by barge and tug from Chattanooga, TN and installed it on the 2nd floor of Clinton Corn Processing (now ADM) in Clinton, IA without the use of any cranes.
1984-Lewis & Lawson Harbor Service was sold but Jerry Lawson continued to do work for the above companies.
1994-Jerry Lawson Inc was started and a marina in Sabula, IA was purchased. Rebuilding Island City Harbor began with replacing all dock assemblies which were built on site with marina staff.
2010-All this experience is the spring board for Lawson Rigging and Fabrication a company owned and operated by Jerry Lawson Inc with the third generation equipped to continue the history of customer service and make their own history.
