Summit Drilling Celebrates Bill Shinn’s Well-Deserved Retirement

After more than four decades in the drilling industry, Summit Drilling proudly honors Bill Shinn as he embarks on a well-earned retirement.

A highly respected leader in the field, Bill’s expertise and dedication made him an invaluable asset on customer projects. But beyond his technical skills, he was a mentor—sharing his knowledge and shaping the next generation of drillers with patience and professionalism.

Bill earned his Biology degree from Delaware Valley University before launching his career at Lippincott Jacobs Consulting Engineers in 1983. Over the years, he held key positions at Burlington Environmental and Tabasco Drilling, where he spent nearly two decades honing his craft. When Summit acquired Tabasco in 2010, Bill became a cornerstone of our field team in South Jersey, bringing his wealth of experience and earning the deep respect of both colleagues and clients.

Bill, we sincerely thank you for your dedication, leadership, and the lasting impact you’ve made on Summit Drilling. While we will miss you in the field, your legacy lives on in the countless drillers you’ve trained and inspired.
