Please join us in congratulating Lorrayne on her promotion to Project Manager!

With more than 11 years of construction experience, Lo has continued to grow as a leader at NEC. From playing an integral role on Dexter Street to managing projects of her own, including Pep Boys Dedham and Toastique Providence, she has earned the trust of our clients and team through her attention to detail, accountability and collaborative approach.

Beyond her project work, Lo has embraced the opportunity to mentor others and support the growth of her team. We’re excited to see her step into this well deserved role and continue building on everything she has accomplished at NEC.

Congratulations, Lo!

First Watch Woburn is in the final stretch, and this exterior is looking a lot different than when we started.

The new finishes and signage are now in place, giving a first glimpse at the transformation this building has undergone. There’s been a lot of work behind this progress, and seeing the First Watch identity come through makes this stage of the project especially rewarding.

The exterior may be getting the spotlight today, but there’s plenty more happening inside. We’ll keep those details under wraps until the final reveal.

Construction is officially underway on the future Merriam Shopping Center in Milford, CT.

NEC is kicking off the ground up construction of this new retail plaza, taking the project from an open site through a fully built retail environment.

Our team is thrilled to bring the plans off the page and into the field with a new plaza bringing retailers to the Milford community.

A strong start in Milford, with plenty more to come.

These are the people you don't always see. The ones who put their skills to work every day on every project to transform sheets of construction documents to the spaces we live, work, play and heal in.

Our valued subcontractors might stay behind the scenes, but their workmanship and dedication to the success of our projects doesn't go unrecognized. Thank you for your partnership.

Codes change. The work gets more complex. Staying informed is part of doing the job well.

Members of the NEC team recently spent time digging into the Commercial Stretch Code, strengthening our understanding of the latest requirements, asking questions, and looking closely at how evolving standards translate from the codebook to the field.

Continuing education like this matters. It gives our team the context to navigate change thoughtfully, anticipate what’s ahead, and make better-informed decisions throughout the life of a project.

Thank you to our training provider, Mass Save and presenter, Bobby de Sousa of PDS Consulting for providing the important learning opportunity to our team. We appreciate the time, perspective, and practical insight.

Turns out, construction looks a little different once you’re actually in it.

This summer, our NEC interns got a firsthand look at everything that happens beyond the plans and jobsite, from the coordination and problem solving to the people who make it all come together. And somewhere between early morning coffee runs, project meetings, active jobsites and a co****le tournament or two, they picked up a few lessons they didn’t expect.

We asked them what they thought they knew coming in, and what they’ll remember walking away.

Safe to say, a lot can change in one summer.

A big thank you to our NEC interns for the energy, curiosity and fresh perspective you brought with you this summer. We’re glad you spent it with us, and we can’t wait to see where you go from here.

There are some jobsite hazards you can see coming. Heat isn't always one of them.

By the time you feel the effects, you're already behind. That's why the best defense is paying attention early, to yourself and to the people working beside you.

Our Safety Manager, Matt Cote, shares a few practical reminders for staying ahead of the heat this summer.

What's one habit that's become non negotiable for your crew during the hottest days of the year?
