North Texas may begin seeing signs of a wetter weather pattern this week, and it could be the start of what El Niño brings into the fall and winter months.
El Niño is a climate pattern that can influence weather across the southern United States, often increasing the chance for wetter conditions during the cooler months. For homeowners, that makes this a good time to watch for areas vulnerable to water intrusion.
This week, North Texas is expected to move into a more active weather pattern, with scattered rain and storms possible early in the week and more widespread rain chances beginning midweek.
The National Weather Service is also noting the potential for heavier rainfall Wednesday through late week, which could increase the risk of localized flooding in some areas.
While every storm system is different, repeated rainfall can quickly reveal weak spots around a home, especially rooflines, windows, exterior doors, drainage areas, and places where small leaks may already exist.
As this wetter pattern moves in, Zeus Restoration will be sharing more about what El Niño can mean for North Texas homes and what property owners should watch for this fall and winter.
