We were called out to replace a home's main shutoff valve, but first we needed to shut the water off at the curb. The town marked the curb box location, but after digging we found an 8-inch steel gas main instead—and no curb box.

The homeowner told us the curb box had been hit by a car about 10 years ago. Sure enough, we found the damaged curb box had been removed, leaving the curb stop buried in dirt instead of being properly repaired.

After uncovering the curb stop, we exercised the valve to make sure it still worked, shut the water off, installed a new curb box, and replaced the home's main shutoff valve inside. At the homeowner's request, we left the curb box slightly above grade. She plans to build a small raised garden bed around it, ensuring it will always be easy to locate and access.

We performed a much-needed update on this home's main water service.
After locating the curb box, we shut the water off to the house and got to work. We replaced the main shutoff valves, removed the meter loop, and eliminated the SharkBite ball valve for a cleaner, more reliable installation.

Another bathroom remodel wrapped up and a very satisfied homeowner.

We’ve handled a lot of plumbing in this home over the years. After talking through ideas during service calls, the bathroom remodel finally came to life. Rita couldn’t be happier with the finished space.
