Another 2027 prediction is starting to take shape. 👀

Dutch Boy just named Deep Rooted—a rich, sun-baked desert orange—its 2027 Color of the Year.

This one caught our attention because our 2027 forecast included Cavern Clay SW 7701 and predicted that terracotta wouldn’t disappear—it would evolve toward deeper, earthier clay, adobe and mineral tones.

Deep Rooted isn't the same color as Cavern Clay. But the direction? Very similar.

First BEHR reinforced the move toward earthy olive-green. Now Dutch Boy is leaning into warm clay.

2027 is looking warmer, earthier and more colorful by the week.

We told you green was going to lead the way in 2027. 👀🎨

Earlier this month, we published our 2027 color forecast and identified earthier, more grounded greens as one of the strongest directions we see developing in residential color.

Now BEHR has officially announced Grounded T27-01 as its 2027 Color of the Year—a deep, muted green-brown that fits squarely into the movement toward olive, bronze, natural wood and warmer mineral tones.

We weren't predicting BEHR's exact selection. We were watching the larger shift happening in residential design—and Grounded is one of the strongest signals yet that this direction is taking hold.

And we don't think BEHR will be the last.
