FLINT LLC

FLINT LLC FLINT is a commercial General Contractor specializing in Design-Build services. At FLINT, we begin with the end in mind.

For more than 100 years, the Flint family has maintained an unequaled reputation for quality and innovation in construction. Opening our Sacramento office in 1995, we focused on a Design-Build delivery method of high value projects. Whether serving clients in industries such as government, education, healthcare, hospitality, sports & entertainment, public sectors or Native American, this “Master B

uilder” approach to construction has continued to be the hallmark of our company. Today, FLINT continues the tradition of values, ethics, quality design and construction. We are independently owned and operated by John Stump, Kevin Mosher, Jared Wright, Robert Downey, and Cathy Robb. Our employees and industry partners are truly some of the best people you will ever work with. We are very grateful for the continued patronage of our clients and the opportunity to build projects of excellence with our friends. We believe our success rests on the success of our clients and business partners. Our clients understand that almost every reputable construction company can get to an acceptable ending, but the “FLINT Experience” is why they choose us. Our teams are committed to exceptional performance and great results. We understand that the decisions made before construction begins significantly impact the overall projects success. Our clients love working with FLINT because we put their interests first, making a complex and stressful process much easier. Doing business with FLINT means exceptional building experiences. Our strong guiding principles of integrity, enjoyment and value are in everything we do for our clients. At FLINT, we…

Manage Complexity – We handle the difficult issues, the complicated coordination, the “what if’s and oh no’s!” But first, we ask the right questions and navigate the best options, always with a focus on value, efficiency, and sustainability. Create Value – FLINT’s value goes deeper than price. We safeguard your budget, use resources efficiently, and create economic and community value that lasts. Mitigate Risk – We listen, think, plan and protect our clients first, in an effort to guide them to smart decisions, predictable processes, successful outcomes, consistent high quality, and no stress. Integrate Sustainability – Sustainable solutions should add value and mitigate risk. Beginning with the end in mind, we are working toward a legacy that our clients and Flint can live with. Evolve Delivery – Everyone on the extended project team is part of the solution. When we all come together, we see the big picture: budget, schedule, constructability, safety, efficiency, sustainability, communication, life cycle and every other factor that impacts project success, both today and in the future. We have spent years developing “Dream Teams” that focus their career on the delivery of specific project types. Our specialized teams have spent years developing efficiency and value that compounds with every project we develop. And, our clients get the benefit of every past project we have done. We maintain fully collaborative project environments that use cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art planning practices, including BIM technology and the lean process. Design and construction is streamlined through the lean pull-planning system, integrating relationships and interactions within the network of specialized professionals. Communication is seamless and timely with use of the latest P-6 scheduling software, SharePoint collaboration sites, and hyperlinked construction documents through Bluebeam. Because FLINT specializes in design-build services and education, we continue to be a highly sought after partner by designers and owners alike. We invite you to explore the “FLINT Experience” and check out our distinctive achievements resulting from fine-tuned technology, creative people and the passion for solving construction challenges at www.flintbuilders.com.

We’re proud to spotlight Jonathan Verde, FLINT’s Project Engineer Intern who has spent the past two years growing alongside our teams in the field and the office. From project planning through completion, Jonathan has embraced every opportunity to learn and contribute.

“My experience has been amazing; words really can’t describe how amazing. Everyone is so nice and welcoming and willing to teach and help you grow. Getting to see the whole process from beginning to end of a project, going on the annual Ski Trip, and all the amazing people I got to meet in the field and the office have been the highlights of my internship. My social skills have seen the greatest improvement during my time here with FLINT. Doing the Kaizens, speaking in front of other students and board members have helped tremendously. I would love to return to FLINT in the future.”

Supporting the next generation of builders is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do here at FLINT!

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes at FLINT, and this summer, Alyssa has been part of making it happen!

As our Marketing Intern, Alyssa has jumped into everything from social media and event planning to coordinating projects across the team. Each day has brought something different and given her the opportunity to learn, create, and see ideas come together from start to finish.

“Throughout my internship, I’ve learned so much about marketing and the construction industry, and I’ve really enjoyed getting the opportunity to be involved in so many different projects. The best part of my internship, though, has definitely been the people. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive, and there’s always someone willing to help, answer a question, or make you feel included. Being surrounded by people who make coming to work fun has easily been one of my favorite parts of the experience.“

Our team came together for a BBQ to celebrate a major project milestone: the completion of the cell-crete pour, officially bringing the project to the capping stage. It’s a significant step forward as we get ready to welcome students back to campus next week!

This milestone reflects strong coordination, safe ex*****on, and the daily effort of everyone on site. Thank you to our project team, trade partners, and the Mill Valley Middle School community for the continued collaboration!

Meet Malia Murray, FLINT’s project engineer intern at our Birney site in San Diego!

Her internship has given her a firsthand look at project coordination, field progress, and the day to day teamwork that keeps a job moving. As Malia shared, “From learning something new every day to watching the project come to life, this internship has been such an amazing experience. The best part, though, is definitely the incredible people I get to work with every day.”

What a day for the FLINT family! We started at the California State Fair and finished under the lights at a Sacramento Republic FC match. The kids high fived the players before kickoff, took over the field for a halftime race, and got their own shots on goal after the game. Sac sealed it with a 5-0 win, capping off a day full of fun for everyone who came out. Always a good time getting the FLINT crew together like this.

Santa Rosa French American Charter School celebrated the opening of its new TK classrooms with an official ribbon cutting!

The new spaces give the school more room to grow its French curriculum and multilingual learning program. As the only publicly accessible school of its kind on the West Coast, and one of just four in the country, the expansion opens this unique educational experience to more families.

One of our favorite parts of the ribbon cutting was seeing students running around, playing in their new classrooms, and exploring the play structures. It was a great way to see these spaces officially come to life!

Congratulations to the students, teachers, families, and everyone who helped make this project happen!

A huge thank you to everyone involved, including: Santa Rosa City Schools, Goodfellow Bros, Comfort Air, Inc., Mike Brown Electric Co., R & R Maher Construction Co., Inc., General Lighting Service, Inc., Henris Roofing Company, Elite Landscape Construction, Inc., Ellis Flooring, Inc., and Sierra Traffic Markings, Inc.

Power is officially on at Fallbrook High School!

Last week, our team celebrated the reenergization milestone with a BBQ alongside Fallbrook Union High School District staff and Giant Power. San Diego Gas & Electric returned to site to reenergize the newly modified 12kV transformer, restoring permanent power to the entire campus and new systems.

This project was critical for the schools' infrastructure and required multiple summer sprints to pull it off with zero interruptions to the campus. FLINT is a proud partner, and it was a team effort by all stakeholders involved to help make the switch to permanent power happen safely and smoothly.
