Looking at a brand-new roof, you’d never guess the hidden damage that was lurking underneath... 🏠🔨
On this recent project in Fair Oaks, CA, tearing off the old roof revealed major, hidden dry rot across the entire overhang, fascia boards, and decking.
Slapping new shingles over rotted wood might save time, but it leads to massive structural headaches later. Here is how it was handled the right way from the ground up:
Complete Tear-Off: Removed all the damaged 1x8 shiplap along the eaves.
Structural Rebuild: Installed brand-new plywood on the overhangs and replaced all perimeter fascia boards.
