So we tore it down and rebuilt it the way a porch should have been built in the first place.

🏡 ALLEN PARK COMPLETE PAVER OVERHAUL | BUILT RIGHT THIS TIME⚒️🧱⚒️

This Allen Park project is a perfect example of why what’s underneath and behind the finished product matters just as much as what you see.👀
Our homeowner was extremely meticulous about the colors and overall appearance. At first, she wasn’t completely sure how everything was going to come together. Once the entire project was finished, she couldn’t believe how beautiful the transformation turned out.
But this project wasn’t just about making it look better. We had to correct how it was originally built.
The previous installation used regular Glenstone block for the porch walls, which was not engineered for this type of application. That was one of the major reasons the original paver porches began to fail.
We removed those walls and rebuilt them using Keystone Stonegate engineered wall block, secured with fiberglass connecting pins and SRW construction adhesive. That gave us a properly interlocked wall system designed to provide the strength and stability a raised paver porch needs.
🧱 Front Porch & Steps – Rebuilt the outer walls with Keystone Stonegate, reused the homeowner’s original pavers and finished everything with new tread caps.
🧱 Side Porch – Rebuilt using the same engineered Stonegate wall system while preserving and reusing the existing pavers.
🧱 Walkway – Removed and reused the original pavers, then power washed, re-leveled and re-sanded them to bring the walkway back to life.
🧱 Back Patio – Restored and brought back into shape so the entire property flows together as one finished hardscape.
Instead of throwing away perfectly good material, we saved and reused as many of the original pavers as possible, while replacing the components that were contributing to the failures.
The finished project kept the character and colors the homeowner wanted while giving her something far more important:
A properly constructed hardscape designed to last.
There’s a big difference between making pavers look good and knowing how to build the structure underneath them correctly.

🚧 PORCH REBUILD + NEW WALKWAY | CLAWSON, MI

Another old-school porch construction method that eventually caught up with this home in Clawson, Michigan.

Many years ago, this porch was built using wood 2x4 framing and ¾-inch OSB, then a concrete porch cap was poured directly over the top. The problem? Wood and OSB simply aren’t meant to support a masonry porch indefinitely.

Over decades of Michigan freeze/thaw cycles and moisture exposure, the wood underneath deteriorated. Once that supporting structure began to fail, the concrete cap moved and the surrounding brickwork started failing with it.

Our crew is tearing out the failed construction and rebuilding the porch the right way for long-term durability.

And while we’re there, we’re giving the front of this home another major upgrade with a brand-new walkway to complete the transformation.
