We apologize we haven’t been open much this season! The drought impacted our growing and sadly we lost some of our chicken flock due to predators.

In better news- we are excited to be opening The Roost Farm Shop at the end of the year and in Nellysford!

As our time will be dedicated to getting this location up and running, we will open Four Gables Farmstand on occasion and when we have items!

We're thrilled to announce that we've purchased the historic 1932 packing shed on Route 151, home to Tuckahoe Antiques for many years!

We're honored to restore and renovate this historic landmark as it begins its next chapter as The Roost Farm Shop & Wine Bar. We hope to welcome you by the end of 2026, and we're pleased to share that Tuckahoe Antiques will continue operations on the basement level.

Inspired by Virginia wine country, The Roost will serve as a gateway to discovering Nelson County, connecting locals and visitors with the incredible farmers, growers, makers, artists, wineries, breweries, and specialty food producers that make this region so special.

Our vision is simple: Gather. Sip. Shop. Stay Awhile.

Enjoy self-serve Virginia wines on tap, local craft beer and cider, fresh locally sourced meats, handcrafted charcuterie boards, gourmet prepared foods, artisan cheeses, fresh baked breads, fresh flowers, gifts, antiques, and locally made products, all while celebrating the people and stories behind them. Whether you're gathering with friends, packing a picnic, or exploring Nelson County, our offerings are perfect to enjoy onsite or take to-go.

We're actively looking for local vendors! If you're a farmer, grower, baker, artisan, maker, winery, brewery, or specialty food producer interested in partnering with us, we'd love to hear from you.

Due to the continued drought and not wanting to dry out our well, we don’t have the same amount of veggies as last year.
We open on the weekends when we can!

We still have eggs and the tomato’s, cucumbers, potatoes, garlic and more are coming soon- but smaller quantities!

If the flag is flying- we are open!

HOURS UPDATE!

While we wait for the veggies to come in and our hens to get back to laying (several of our hens are broody) we are changing our hours and will be open Thurs-Sun 10-6.

We’ve also sold out of all our jam and pickles!

A visit to Seaman’s orchard in Nelson County yesterday late afternoon has allowed me to make a small batch of sweetheart cherry jam over night. Just in time for Memorial Day weekend! 🍒🍒🍒

🪴This will be our last week selling plant starts! Our seedlings are eager to get to their new homes, so come and grab yours before they’re gone!

The farmstand is located at 11254 Rockfish Valley Hwy., Afton, VA, open Wednesday-Saturday, 10am-7pm. We accept cash, Venmo, and square.
