Delivering Efficient Wastewater Infrastructure for Commercial Growth

Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a compact cutter pump wastewater lift station for a growing commercial development in Bear, Delaware. Serving multiple retail and commercial buildings along U.S. Route 40, this value-engineered system was tailored to the site's actual flow requirements, helping reduce costs while meeting New Castle County standards.

Featuring a duplex Tsurumi cutter pump configuration, the lift station pumps up to 60 GPM at 16 feet TDH, providing reliable wastewater conveyance while minimizing maintenance concerns often associated with solids and fibrous materials. The result is an efficient, cost-conscious solution built for long-term performance.

At Romtec Utilities, every lift station is engineered to match the specific needs of the site, helping developers and engineers avoid oversizing equipment while maintaining dependable operation.

When challenging site conditions demand a unique solution, custom engineering makes all the difference.

For this stormwater lift station project in Eagle River, Alaska, Romtec Utilities designed and supplied a complete system to help mitigate recurring flooding issues caused by freeze-thaw conditions and poor surface drainage. A key feature of the project was a stepped-down wet well design, allowing the station to fit within a tight site footprint while accommodating numerous existing underground utilities. The result is a stormwater solution that helps protect nearby homes and infrastructure from future flooding.

When industrial facilities need reliable water management solutions, every detail matters.

For a hydrogen production facility in McIntosh, Alabama, Romtec Utilities partnered with Linde Engineering Americas to design and supply an industrial process water lift station that handles both stormwater and condensed process water. The system was engineered to accommodate occasional high-temperature flows while meeting a tight project schedule.

The completed system features a polymer precast wet well, above-grade valve assembly, Goulds vertical suspended shaft pumps in a duplex configuration, and a Primex control panel, all working together to support ongoing facility improvements and increased liquid hydrogen production capacity.

At Romtec Utilities, we provide complete design-build pumping solutions for industrial facilities, delivering systems tailored to unique site conditions and operational requirements.

Power generation facilities demand pumping systems that can handle extreme conditions, and this project in Middletown, Ohio is a strong example.

For the Middletown Energy Center, a combined cycle power plant, Romtec Utilities designed and supplied multiple pump stations to support HRSG blowdown and process water operations. These systems manage high-temperature, high-flow water that can be both corrosive and challenging to handle.

To meet these demands, the pump stations were engineered with:
- Above-ground pump assemblies to reduce exposure to harsh conditions
- Duplex Goulds pump configurations for reliability and performance
- Systems designed for flows ranging from 480 to 850 GPM at 25’–35’ TDH

Romtec Utilities worked alongside Gemma Power to deliver a solution tailored to the facility’s operational needs, from design through construction and startup support.

Projects like this highlight the importance of designing pump systems specifically for the realities of industrial and energy applications.
