Safety doesn't stop at the worksite, and it continues every time we get behind the wheel.
This June marks the 30th anniversary of National Safety Month, and our team at Nuko is focusing on strengthening the habits and behaviors that drive a safer workplace. As we review the second week, the importance of “Staying Safe on the Roads” and implementing safe driving practices both on and off the job. Every trip is an opportunity to make safety a priority, and while driving may be part of our daily routine it remains one of the most significant risks many of us face.
This week's key reminders included:
Eliminate distractions such as phones, food, and multitasking while driving.
Follow posted speed limits and traffic laws at all times.
Keep vehicles properly maintained through regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
Practice defensive driving, stay aware of your surroundings, and take rest breaks to avoid fatigue.
Safety is more than just a policy, it's a commitment we make to one another every day. Safe driving protects our employees, our communities, and everyone who shares the road. Together, we can help prevent accidents and create a stronger culture of safety every day.

This June, we are recognizing National Safety Month through the lens of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This past week's theme was "Moving Safety Forward," where we highlighted ways we advance a culture of safety with forward thinking strategies and tools.

Nuko's number one priority is safety, whether it is addressing a training gap, introducing new technologies, enhancing operational procedures, or investing in workforce development, the focus remains on getting better every day.

This is a core component in everything we do as a company, as well as what we advocate for in every aspect of our work. Safety is a daily commitment that follows employees from the facilities they work in to the office and back again, driving continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and teamwork.

Main topics for this past week included:
• Reviewing incident trends and leading indicators
• Exploring new tools and technology that improve safety
• Reinforcing leadership accountability and communication
• Updating outdated procedures and training materials
