One of the secrets to making a pond look like it has always belonged in your landscape is using the right plants around the rocks.

Instead of seeing a hard line of stone around your pond, try adding:

Here’s something many pond owners don’t realize: a healthy, properly circulating koi pond usually isn’t an ideal mosquito nursery!

Mosquitoes prefer shallow, stagnant water where they can lay their eggs.

💧 Keep your water circulating with a properly sized pump.
🌊 Eliminate stagnant pockets around the pond.
🐟 Koi may eat some mosquito larvae, but shouldn’t be your only defense.

🐟💧 DO YOU KNOW YOUR KOI POND’S pH?

Clear water doesn’t always mean healthy water!

🧪 Koi generally do well with a stable pH around 7.0–8.5. The key word is STABLE. Sudden pH swings can stress your fish.

🌅 Quick Tip: Pond pH can naturally be lower in the morning and higher later in the day because of plant and algae activity.

⚠️ If your koi are acting stressed, flashing, gasping, or not eating normally, test your water before adding chemicals.

What an amazing client! I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to take care of this sweet couple’s prefab pond. We’re already looking forward to giving it an even bigger refresh this coming spring!

This visit included repairing a damaged liner, giving the fountain some much-needed TLC, and replacing a pump that had reached the end of its run. We were able to get everything taken care of and the pond back up and running beautifully before their company arrived in town.
