Last week, D.A. Dodd hosted a WiMI Indiana session at our Lafayette facility!

The event began with a tour of our fabrication operations, followed by an interactive presentation from Marissa Ulrich on “Quieting Your Inner Critic.” We explored how stress can trigger self-critical thinking, how internal dialogue influences confidence and leadership presence, and practical ways to shift from inner criticism to inner coaching.

August Pet of the Month: Slick 🐾

Meet Slick, Joe Lewinski’s 11-year-old Beagle/Shepherd mix. Slick loves vanilla ice cream, riding around in the golf cart, swimming, stacking shoes on his bed, and chasing chipmunks. He's not a fan of short grass, and he’s pretty suspicious of ovens, mostly because they seem to make the smoke alarms go off.

Thanks to everyone who purchased a 2026 Dodd’s Pets Calendar; we raised $358.52 to support Natalie’s Second Chance Dog Shelter. Your generosity will help provide care, shelter, and second chances for dogs in need. 🐾

We’re also excited to recognize the top finishers in our 8-Week Healthy Habits Food Challenge! D.A. Dodd was proud to participate in a STEM Camp organized by the Mno-Bmadsen Pathways Program in partnership with the Pokagon Band Department of Education.

Our Technology team introduced campers to block coding using Sphero robots, which they programmed to navigate a maze. Campers also learned the basics of sheet metal fabrication and explored STEM-related careers within mechanical construction.

This week, we celebrated D.A. Dodd Intern Day and recognized our 2026 interns: Grady Rudolph, Project Management Intern, and Brianna Guennel, Technology Intern.

Internships provide valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience, build professional skills, and explore potential career paths. At D.A. Dodd, we’ve seen firsthand how an internship can become the beginning of a lasting career. President Jason Demeyer and Vice Presidents of Construction Dave Siddall and Anthony Burnett all began their careers with D.A. Dodd as interns. Their journeys reflect the value of investing in emerging talent and creating opportunities for the next generation of industry leaders.

July Pets of the Month: Meet Frankie and Henry! 🐾

Frankie and Henry are Scott Milner’s 4-year-old pups and brothers from the same litter. Frankie is a Jack Russell Terrier mix, while Henry is a Poodle mix. They’re best friends who love playing with toys, running around the backyard, visiting with the neighborhood dogs, and cuddling together on the couch. ❤️

Frankie can almost always be found with a toy in his mouth, while Henry prefers to stay close to anyone who’s eating, hoping for a dropped bite or a well-earned treat. Both are extremely social and love welcoming visitors, getting plenty of attention, and posing for photos.

With their massive bow tie collection and signature sense of style, Frankie and Henry are always ready for their next photo shoot! 🐶
