It’s funny how some projects start. I recently had someone reach out to the page after seeing an old photo of a "proof of concept" candle I made a long time ago—back when I was just testing if a wooden bowl candle was even practical!

I didn't have that one anymore, but I agreed to turn a fresh one for her. We settled on a price, and I got to work. About a week later, I went to send a progress update only to find the conversation gone. Looks like I got ghosted! 👻

But honestly? That is okay. I really enjoyed making these and used the opportunity to really perfect the process. The smaller bowl is the one I originally turned for the commission, but since I had the lathe running and the wax melter hot, I figured I might as well make a second, larger one while I was at it.

So, now I have these two solid Black Walnut candles finished and looking for a home. If you’re interested in one, shoot me a message. And if no one claims them, I know Gina won't mind keeping them for our own coffee table! 😉
