Another backflow saved! We can’t save them all but we often do!
Sure her gate valves were weeping sad tears and she was broken up inside. Sure someone said she was worthless and needed to be replaced for a newer younger model!
But with the right tools, knowledge, and effort she’s been saved. Saved this customer about $12k!

But really….ever feel like you are being watched while your working?? 😅

Attention all property owners, property managers, on site engineers, landscapers, and anyone else with small hand tools. Let your backflow buddy share a tip that will save you a couple thousand dollars.

STOP REMOVING THE SHUT OFF HANDLES!

Often people remove the factory handles thinking they just made it tamper proof. That is a HUGE mistake. Over time landscapers or anyone with a pair of pliers will try and shut down the water or turn it back on. This destroys the shut off. Making the device inoperable and triggering the need for replacement. There are better ways to secure your device.

CRIKEY MATE!!! We have found the elusive and very rare SVB backflow assembly! These are normally only found in captivity where they sit waiting for a new backflow student or refresher to test for their annual hands on exam! To find one in the wild is like hitting the lotto!! Let alone a brand new installed device!! And we even got to disassemble it for failing its first test! Many will travel miles and miles and test thousands and thousands of backflows and still never catch one in the wild! We can retire now!
