Just a Maintenance reminder.
Lubing the spring shaft bearings. When the door is shut, the entire weight of the door is on them. A lot of people never thought about it. L**e the rollers, stems of the rollers, and the hinges with rollers. This will make the door quieter and will make the opener work a lot easier.
Some of these DIY posts on face book that say things you should do.
One "not" to do is l**e the springs.
When that spring breaks, that l**e goes everywhere, ceiling, wall, on the door.
Also, nothing is needed in the tracks, as the rollers need to roll not slide, and just attracts dust and makes it hard to drag roller through it in cold weather.
WD40 is not a good lubricator at all. Water Displacement is what the WD stands for, not l**e. Spray it on something and watch it evaporate.
I have been using JB 80 on garage doors for 35 years, or you can use almost anything that says garage door l**e.
When lubing your door inspect the cables. If the cables look like a corkscrew, there is broken wires within. You may not see them but will become a problem.
WORD OF WARNING! Do not mess with the springs or cables/ bottom fixtures that the cable fastens to.
There is so much power in the springs, that without the proper tools, you can lose fingers in a blink of an eye.

Friday fun
Replaced a broken spring on a very heavy door
18' x 7' with windows. The window section weighs more than twice what the other sections do.
Converted them to 2 pair of springs
Figured the original springs were rated at 10k cycles, that lasted 5 years, a little under normal.
Going with this set up now is 50k
Keeping the door l**ed up will quiet the operation and lengthen openers life.
