River Oats adds movement and texture to any landscape with graceful seed heads that dance in the breeze.

It's one of our favorite native grasses for rain gardens and shaded landscapes. They prefer the soil wet, but once established can tolerate short drought periods making it a resilient addition while also providing food and shelter for wildlife and insects.

Our team has recently been doing work on a residential project where the goal was to transplant the client's edible garden, including fruit trees and strawberries, while incorporating native plants like yarrow and bee balm throughout the landscape.

The result is a space that supports both the vision of the client while also supporting their local eco-system with native pollinators.

Have invasive plants? We will come remove it before you plant! ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒบ

One of the most effective ways to restore native habitat is by first removing invasive species that outcompete the plants wildlife depends on. NRM provides both mechanical and chemical removal of common invasives such as bush honeysuckle, privet, and Bradford pear, helping reclaim spaces for native species to thrive.

The before-and-after photos shown above show what that process looks like. What was once dominated by invasive vegetation is now ready for the next phase of restoration.

Whether you're managing a commercial property, HOA common area, park, trail system, or private land, NRM can help you create a healthier, more sustainable landscape.

NRM is offering native revegetation this summer! โ˜€

Native revegetation is the next step after invasive removal. At NRM, we develop restoration plans using native species grown in our nursery, ensuring that the right plants are selected for the right site. We also will do custom grows if there is a native we don't have that you want in your space.

If your goal is in restoring habitat, improving the biodiversity, or simply creating a beautifully diverse garden native revegetation can help with all of them.

Visit our website or reach out to learn more about if NRM would be a good fit for your project!

This residential rain garden features Bradbury's Bee Balm (Monarda bradburiana) accompanied by yarrow and Great Coneflower, creating a beautiful native planting that supports pollinators while adding seasonal interest to the landscape.

Native pollinator gardens help to establish a more adaptive landscape that takes less maintenance over time. That means less time maintaining plants that aren't compatible with the conditions of your space. And of course they attract lovely native pollinators!

Our pollinator gardens are designed with native plants grown in our greenhouse or locally sourced from trusted growers.
