Reaching the topping out milestone is an accomplishment worth recognizing. At what will be Potomac Shores Elementary School, HESS gathered with our project partners and subcontractors for a Mission BBQ, lunch to celebrate the continued effort, skill, and cooperation that made this achievement possible.

While this step marks significant progress, it also serves as a reminder of the important work still ahead. Thank you to everyone on site whose field leadership, expertise, and commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork continues to move this project forward.

This celebratory lunch honors all the work behind this milestone while inspiring everyone for the next phase of construction as we work together to bring this project to completion.

A special shoutout to Mission BBQ Stafford, they did a phenomenal job in preparing and serving a great lunch!

On Friday, June 12, students of Brookfield Elementary School had the opportunity to leave their mark by signing a steel beam before it was placed as part of their new school. Even the school's beloved Therapy Dog, Maui, joined in by leaving his own signature!

A beam signing is more than a construction tradition, it's a celebration of the people these spaces are built to serve. One signature at a time, Brookfield's Broncos signed a piece of history that will become part of their new school for generations to come.

It was a memorable moment filled with excitement, pride, and anticipation as students helped create a lasting connection to a building designed to inspire learning, growth, and community. Long after the final ribbon is cut, they'll be able to say, "I helped build that."

A project-wide safety meeting was held last Friday at Potomac Shores Elementary School in recognition of OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls and Construction Safety Week.

Everyone on site took time to review the risks associated with fall-related incidents in construction in an effort to reinforce the safety practices that help prevent them, including ladder safety, scaffolding, guardrails, PFAS, and leading edge work.

Safety remains our top priority, and taking time to pause, educate, and refocus helps ensure every worker gets home safely at the end of the day, every day.

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting our Subcontractor & Client Appreciation Event at Whiskey Creek Golf Club.

This was our way of thanking the clients and subcontractors whose hard work, dedication, and collaboration drive our projects forward.

From golf and laughter to prizes and great conversations, it was all about strengthening relationships, building new connections, and celebrating the partnerships behind what we do.
