Today, we're taking you inside a structure where we discovered extensive termite carton material concealed within the walls!

🐜 What’s the plan of attack?

Our team will be performing selective demolition to expose and manually remove the termite carton material before proceeding with a comprehensive treatment of the structure.

The home features a combination of pier-and-beam and slab construction, requiring a strategic approach to ensure the affected areas are properly addressed.

We'll be utilizing Termidor HE at a 0.125% concentration, the highest labeled finished dilution, to treat the applicable areas beneath and around the structure.

But we're not stopping there!

We've also coordinated a structural fumigation to address the possibility of additional termite activity in concealed areas where visible evidence may not be present.

Wooden bed frames can make it easier for bed bugs to become established. Bed bugs naturally seek tight cracks, crevices, joints, and rough surfaces where they can hide, aggregate, and lay eggs. Wooden frames typically provide more of these favorable harborages than simple, smooth metal frames, and research has demonstrated that bed bugs prefer rough surfaces over smooth ones. Metal frames will not prevent bed bugs, but their smoother surfaces and fewer hiding places can make it more difficult for populations to establish unnoticed and can make inspection and treatment easier.

PSA: Adding an addition onto your home often creates an expansion joint where the new structure meets the existing foundation. These joints can become vulnerable entry points for moisture and unwanted pests especially subterranean termites.
Because subterranean termites travel from the soil into a structure through tiny cracks and concealed areas, expansion joints can provide them with a hidden pathway into your home.
If you've recently added onto your home or you're planning an addition make sure the expansion joint is properly sealed, protected, and included in your regular termite inspections.

A beautiful addition shouldn't become an open door for termites.
