Disclaimer this is an actual photo (not AI generated)of a home in GR.

“I know a guy who can do it cheaper!”

This is what that looks like from the street — before the siding even goes on.

Now, maybe this is exactly how it’s supposed to look. But from this POV, I’m seeing a crooked roofline and possibly a majorly out of square roof system.

If this is truly a build issue, the problem will start to compound on themselves in each and every phase of finishing this build.

The cheapest bid is rarely the best bid. Know what you’re hiring.

New coffee shop coming to the Creston area. We are very thankful for the professional recommendation from Elevate Studio for this project. As we near the start of construction our excitement will grow to help Abo Coffee serve the Creston area.

Abo Coffee Company is slated to open this summer in a vacant storefront on Plainfield Avenue, where owner Rohmell Matthews is channeling his Native American heritage into a community coffee shop.

Matthews, with his wife, Madeline Haadsma, plans to open Abo Coffee in August at 1801 and 1803 Plainfield Ave. NE in Grand Rapids’ Creston neighborhood. The coffee shop, which Matthews said takes its name from a shorthand Native term for coffee, will seat around 50 customers. Offerings will include espresso, pour-over coffee beverages, chai, tea and seasonal drinks.

The coffee shop will be the first brick-and-mortar business for Matthews, who has been working in the coffee industry for the last seven years, including roles with Grand Rapids coffee shops Scorpion Hearts Club and Lantern Coffee Bar and Lounge.

He launched Abo Coffee as a mobile coffee cart in early April, although he said the idea for his own coffee business has “been in the works for a couple years.” Abo Coffee operates a handmade wooden coffee cart with an electric generator as for its power supply, which gives the business flexibility in the type of events it can serve.
