🌾 Don’t overlook the importance of ornamental grasses! 🌾

Blackhawk, Hameln, Heavy Metal, North Wind, Shenandoah, and Little Bluestem are more than just beautiful additions to the landscape—they play an important role in supporting our beneficial insects. 🦋🐝

Many native insects overwinter in and around the stems, leaves, and seed heads of grasses, with some species relying on that plant material to protect their eggs and young through the winter. Leaving grasses standing until late winter or early spring can provide valuable habitat when it’s needed most. 🍂❄️

And here’s another reason to love fall planting! 🍁 Fall is an excellent time to plant ornamental grasses. Cooler temperatures and naturally occurring moisture give roots time to establish before the stress of summer arrives.

Plant for beauty. Plant for habitat. Plant for the future. 🌱

There are some people who are simply fortunate enough to be born into an industry—and then there are those who are fortunate enough to discover that it’s where they belong. ❤️🌱

This guy was born into the nursery industry, but he has worked for every bit of what he’s become. From field work to trade shows and everything in between, Jimmy has learned what it takes. He loves the plants, he loves the people, and he has had the privilege of learning from some of the very best in this industry.

And the thing that makes us proudest? He does it all without complaining. He shows up, works hard, learns, and gets the job done.

Jimmy is James’ right-hand man. Whatever needs to be done, James knows he can count on him. That kind of dependability, work ethic, and integrity can’t be taught overnight—it’s something we’ve watched him develop year after year.
Jimmy was born with a measuring stick and a set of clippers in hand. 😉🌳 And somehow, those tools have helped shape him into the hardworking young man he is today.

This week, our son heads back to college for his second year, and while we couldn’t be more proud of him, we already know Easy Tree is going to feel his absence. ❤️

I’m sure there are many up-and-coming “Jimmies” in this industry, and we hope there are. We need young people who are willing to work, learn, lead, and carry this industry forward.

But we are especially fortunate to call HIM our son.

Go make us proud, Jimmy. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. 🌱❤️
