🪨🚜 HEY LOCAL FARMERS & LANDOWNERS & HOME BUILDERS— WE’RE LOOKING FOR FIELD ROCK! 🌾

Do you have a pile of rocks you’ve been collecting from your fields or building sites over the years? You know, those rocks that somehow keep multiplying every spring? 😂

NewTier Home & Yard Care LLC would love to take some off your hands!

We’re looking for natural fieldstone, rustic limestone, and other unique stones to use in our landscaping projects.

Rather than paying outrageous prices to big landscape suppliers, we’d much rather put some money directly into the pockets of our local farmers and landowners! ❤️

🌿 WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

At NewTier, we believe beautiful landscaping shouldn’t have to come with an outrageous price tag!

By working directly with local farmers, we can:
✅ Support our local farming families and community.
✅ Give beautiful natural stone a new purpose.
✅ Keep our landscaping material costs down.
✅ Pass those savings along to our customers!
✅ Create unique, natural-looking landscapes using materials from right here in Minnesota.

🪨 SO, WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

✅ Fieldstone and rock piles sitting around your property.

✅ Rustic limestone, especially flatter pieces that can be used for edging or stacking.

✅ Larger, unique rocks that would make beautiful landscaping accents.

✅ Farmers or landowners willing to let us come pick through their rock piles.

We have trucks, trailers, and aren’t afraid of a little hard work! 💪 We’re happy to discuss a fair price or help clear out rocks you no longer want.

🍂 NEW TIER CHRONICLES: Fall Is Sneaking In… 🍂

Well… Minnesota has officially entered that time of year when Mother Nature can’t quite make up her mind. 😂

We’ve had plenty of rain, finally caught a little break, the beetles are starting to move in, and somehow a few dandelions decided they needed one last appearance before winter. 🌧️🐞🌼

As we move further into fall, we’re also beginning to make small adjustments to our mowing routine to help lawns gradually prepare for colder weather. That can mean adjusting mowing height, keeping an eye on how quickly the grass is growing, and making changes based on what each property needs.

Because when it comes to lawn care, there really isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. Every lawn grows a little differently, every property has different conditions, and Mother Nature definitely likes to keep us guessing. 😂

And that’s part of why we believe:

❤️ Every Property Tells a Story.

Now we’re heading into the season of falling leaves, garden cleanup, final mowing, winter prep… and before we know it, SNOW. ❄️

If fall cleanup or winter services are on your list this year, now is a great time to reach out and get on our schedule.

🇺🇸😂 THE NEWTIER CHRONICLES ARE BACK!

And apparently… somebody forgot to tell us to take Labor Day off. 🤦‍♀️😂

After the week Shane & I have had, maybe we should have taken the hint:

🔨 Shane stepped on a rusty barn nail.
🔨 Then I stepped on a rusty barn nail.
🐝 The bees got BOTH of us.
🍎🌳 We took down an apple tree.
💪 And somehow we’re still out working today. 😂

At this point, QC Toad may be the smartest employee at NewTier. 🐸😎

But we couldn’t let Labor Day go by without bringing back The NewTier Chronicles!

Now we want to hear from YOU:

Are you LABORING today or enjoying a well-earned day OFF? 🇺🇸

And just for fun… what’s the craziest thing that’s happened to you at work lately? 😂👇

❤️ Happy Labor Day from Shane & Krista and the NewTier crew!

If this gave you a laugh, give it a share! We appreciate every comment, share and recommendation that helps our little local business grow. ❤️

🌱🍂 NEWTIER: WHAT IN THE YARD IS GOING ON?! 🍂🌱

WAIT… WINTER PREP ALREADY?! 😳❄️

We know, we know… nobody wants to hear the “W” word yet. 😂

But here in Minnesota, late summer into early fall is actually one of the most important times to prepare your lawn for next spring!

✅ FEED IT — Late summer/early fall is a great time to fertilize cool-season lawns and help strengthen roots.

🌱 SEED IT — Have thin or bare spots? Now is a great time to overseed while the soil is still warm and cooler weather is moving in.

💨 LET IT BREATHE — Compacted lawn? Fall is a great time for core aeration, especially when paired with overseeding.

✂️ DON’T SCALP IT — Keep mowing as your grass grows and avoid removing more than ⅓ of the grass blade at once.

💧 KEEP WATERING — Don’t put the hose away just yet! Lawns, trees and shrubs still need moisture heading into fall, especially during dry stretches.

🍂 DON’T LET LEAVES PILE UP — A thick layer of wet leaves can smother the grass underneath.

🌿 GET AFTER THOSE WEEDS — Fall can be a great opportunity to tackle stubborn perennial weeds before winter.

⭐ NewTier Tip:
What you do to your lawn NOW can make a big difference in how it wakes up next spring. 🌱💚

🌿❤️ The NewTier Chronicles — Episode 6: “Krista Math” 😂

Apparently there’s regular math… business math… and then there’s Krista Math. 😆

Sometimes we meet someone who simply needs a little help keeping up with their home. Maybe they’re getting older, living on a tighter budget, or the things they once did themselves have simply become a little harder.

And that’s when my calculator occasionally starts working a little differently. 😂❤️

Shane knows the look.

Georges understands it too — although between the three of us, he’s certainly been known to make a handshake deal or two himself! 🤝😂

We know NewTier is a business, and we have employees, equipment, fuel, insurance and bills just like every other small business. We can’t discount every job, and many of the projects we’re hired for are things people want rather than truly need.

But sometimes a lawn isn’t just a lawn.

For an older homeowner, having a little help mowing or maintaining their property might mean one less obstacle to continuing to live independently in the home they’ve worked so hard for.

If there’s a reasonable way for us to help, those are the jobs that remind us why we wanted NewTier to be about more than simply completing a service.

🌱 We want to build relationships.
🤝 Earn trust.
❤️ Care about the people behind the property.
🏡 And leave things a little better than we found them.

Because every property really does tell a story — and the people living there are the most important part of it.

And yes… sometimes that requires a little Krista Math. 😂❤️

🌿 NewTier Home & Yard Care LLC

💬 Know an older neighbor who could use an occasional helping hand? Check in on them. Sometimes something small to us can mean an awful lot to someone else.

And as always, if our Chronicles make you laugh, smile, or remind you of someone — comment, tag a friend or share them! It helps more people discover our little local business, and we appreciate it tremendously. ❤️🙏

🌿☀️ NEWTIER YARD TIPS — What Are YOU Seeing This Week?

📚 Backpacks are coming out, school supplies are everywhere, and summer is somehow already winding down!

Our grandkids in Virginia headed back to school today, while here around Rochester there’s still a little summer left before school starts.

And we’re guessing there are at least a FEW parents out there thinking…

“Love you kids… but we’re ready for a schedule again!” 😂🙌

Meanwhile, our Minnesota yards apparently didn’t get the back-to-school memo. 🌱

Here’s what we’re noticing lately:

🌱 GRASS GROWING LIKE CRAZY?
We’ve noticed lawns getting surprisingly long and thick between mowings. Late-summer moisture and cooler weather can keep that grass growing strong, so don’t put the mower away yet!

🪰 GNATS & FLIES DRIVING YOU NUTS?
We’ve noticed those too! Check for standing water, wet yard debris, fallen fruit, pet waste and other damp organic material. A little cleanup can sometimes make a big difference.

🦌 WHO ATE MY FLOWERS?!
Apparently the deer have decided our gardens are complimentary salad bars. 😂🌺 Protect favorite plants early and consider deer repellents or changing up deterrents before they become regular dinner guests.

🍂 AND YES… WE’VE SPOTTED SOME LEAVES.

We’re NOT declaring summer over yet! 😂 But it’s time to start thinking ahead:

🍁 Fall Cleanup Scheduling — OPEN
❄️ Snow Removal Scheduling — OPEN

Getting on the list early means one less thing to worry about when Minnesota decides to change seasons overnight. 😂

💬 WHAT’S HAPPENING IN YOUR YARD?

Crazy grass? Hungry deer? Annoying bugs? Weeds? Early leaves? Something you can’t identify?

🍂 The NewTier Chronicles — Episode 5: TOO SOON?! 😂

We know, we know… IT’S STILL SUMMER! ☀️🌸

Krista is still happily playing in the flower beds…

Meanwhile, Shane spots ONE LEAF on the ground and suddenly:

🚨 “IT HAS BEGUN.” 🚨 😂

And of course Georges has already done the math…

🍁 One leaf today.
🍁 47,382 tomorrow.

Apparently we’d better get the equipment ready. 😂

All joking aside, summer sure has flown by, and before we know it those beautiful Minnesota trees are going to start dropping their leaves.

NewTier is now scheduling FALL CLEANUPS! 🍂

We can help with leaf and yard cleanup, landscape and garden bed cleanup, end-of-season trimming, and getting your property cleaned up and ready for winter.

And while none of us really want to say the “S” word yet… ❄️😬

We’re also starting to schedule SNOW REMOVAL for the upcoming season!

Our regular Quality Control Supervisor, Braxton, may be back home in Virginia, but don’t worry—his clipboard is reserved until next summer. ❤️

In the meantime, it appears the Quality Control Toad has officially taken over. 🐸🍂

Thank you for supporting our little family business, following along with The NewTier Chronicles, and trusting us to care for your properties. Every share, referral, comment, and recommendation truly helps our business continue to grow. ❤️🙏🏼

Missing Mom a little extra today. ❤️

Not really sure why—some days just hit a little differently than others.

So on this rainy day today I pulled out her old recipe boxes and decided to make a couple of her famous salads for the family. Seeing her handwriting and going through all these old recipes brings back so many memories. Some of these cards even have recipes and handwriting passed down from generations before her.

Mom was such an amazing cook and baker, and food was one of the many ways she loved and cared for her family. I’m so thankful we still have these little pieces of her to hold onto and pass down.

I miss you, Mom. I love you. ❤️
Today we’ll have a little taste of you at the table with us. 🥰

🍂 The NewTier Chronicles – Episode 4🍂

Hasn’t this last week of cooler weather been a blessing? 🌤️

As much as we’ve enjoyed the break from the heat, it’s also a reminder that another season is just around the corner.

Before we know it…
🍁 Leaves will be falling.
🌿 Gardens will be ready for their final cleanup.
❄️ Snowflakes will be replacing leaves.

At NewTier, we believe every season is an opportunity to serve our neighbors well. Whether it’s preparing your property for winter with a thorough fall cleanup or keeping your driveway and sidewalks safe all winter long, we’d be honored to help.

If you’re thinking you’ll need:
🍂 Fall leaf cleanup
🌳 Shrub and landscape cleanup
🌱 Garden bed preparation
🧹 Final property cleanups
❄️ Residential or commercial snow removal

…now is a great time to get on the schedule before our calendar fills up.

Thank you to everyone who continues to trust our family with your homes and businesses. Your support means more than you know.

💚 Question of the Week:
What’s your favorite thing about the changing seasons? Is it the cool weather, colorful leaves, bonfires, football, pumpkin spice, the first snowfall… or something else?

We’d love to hear your answer in the comments! 🍁
